Expository Writing (GR 6-8)
Date: Starting 2nd week of January

Description: Expository writing is writing that has a purpose of explaining, informing, or describing through the presentation of reasons, facts, or steps in a process.To be good writers, students must be able to organize their thoughts, follow a plan, and conduct research to support their thesis. This workbook allows students to choose a stance on a debatable topic and then write a 5-paragraph essay using pre-selected, reliable reference sources. In each chapter, students will review a grammar lesson such as verb tense, compound & complex sentences, and relative clauses.
TED Talks 2 (GR 6-8)

Description: TED Talks 2 are influential videos from experts on a wide array of mind-opening topics such as education, business, socio-economics, technology and social movements. In the TED Talks class, students will learn about interesting discoveries and ideas while engaging in lively class discussions. Each lesson is complete with a vocabulary, listening, and writing and/or debate exercises. The comprehension questions are presented in a standardized testing format, so students can practice and get more familiarized with test-taking skills.

Description: Language classes are divided by ages 5-8 and 9-12. Beginner students are always welcome. Our teachers are loving and have a lot of experience in this field. Our teachers have their own customized curriculum to help students learn while having fun in class! We also offer private classes for adults. Contact us for details!
Steam Hands-on Projects
Zometool (Ages 5-9)
Date: 1/15 – 2/12 (5 weeks)
Time: Tuesdays, 5:00 – 6:00 PM
Cost: $80, 1/8 teacher student ratio
Description: Zometool is design to encourage students to learn skills and their imagination about becoming future architects, scientist and engineers. Students learn about art, science, and math while having fun.
Join us for Preschool Hour for ages 3.5 - 5 years old. Look forward to an hour of yoga, circle time, and developmentally appropriate activities, all designed to help prepare children to enter school. Children must be potty trained. $10 materials fee payable to instructor on the first day of class.

If you're looking to improve reading, reading comp, vocabulary and grammar, our book club novel and workbook selections are created to help improve these areas while having fun. We have several descriptive writing w/b for high level third graders up to 8th grade. Private writing classes also offered to students taking AP and honor English and comprehension.
