Lodestone News: June 2020

Dear Parents,

We have been through so much in the last few months and we hope you and your loved ones remain in good health. Businesses are reopening and we're hoping to slowly bring the children back to our academy. Our priority is creating a loving and safe environment for every student. We miss seeing you and the children.

Starting this week, we're offering Math and English for students in grades K-6. Classes are open Monday-Friday from 3:30-6:30pm. We apologize, due to the latest changes, the all day summer program won't be available this summer.

Spanish and Korean beginner classes: Fall schedule and registration is open on our website at www.lodestoneacademy.net.

Returning students: Contact the academy and schedule an assessment early August. Students will be reassessed and grouped with students in their appropriate levels.

Moving forward, we are going to follow safety guidelines outlined by the CDC. We will enforce social distancing and make sure everyone is wearing masks. We will enforce 1:4 teacher student ratio for each classroom. Lastly, the worked areas will be sanitized after each class.

We will be following CDC guidelines: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/community/schools-childcare/summer-camps.html

As students return, we ask parents to help make the transition as smoothly as possible by assisting us with these steps:

  • Keep your child home if you see signs of illness such as fever, runny nose, sore throat, coughing, diarrhea, and vomiting.
  • Use the bathroom prior to class and wash your hands.
  • Don't leave your child unattended if you arrive to class early. Wait in front of the school while maintaining social distancing.
  • Bring your own water bottle. No food allowed during class.
  • Must wear masks while keeping social distancing, 6 feet apart.
  • Arrive five minutes before the end of class and wait in front of the academy.
  • Provide a doctors note if the student is unable to make up classes within the month.

We understand that everyone has different comfort levels with everything going on these days. We will continue to offer distance education using Zoom to accommodate families who would rather learn using this method. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any other concerns, we'll do our best to accommodate.
